Soul Blind ‘Feel It All Around’ (2022)

The shoegaze offshoot run continues this week, with Soul Blind’s debut album Feel It All Around our next stop on the dreamscape journey. Soul Blind is definitely on the heavier side, more oriented on modern metal, but incorporates just the right blend of shoegaze haziness and a surprising little dash of mid-aughts post-hardcore emo energy to round things out. There’s this really great balance of thick crushing riffs that never lose sight of the fact that melodic moments matter most in music. Soul Blind always gravitates towards that melodic center in every song here. The guitar work is downright sublime—layered, textured, and full of interesting little runs—while the vocals hit every moody note needed to tie it all together. It’s surprising that something so damn heavy feel can feel vulnerable and human in the same moment, and yet here we are. Definitely a band I’ll be coming back to.

Standout Songs: “Bruise The Sore”, “Stuck In A Loop”, “Ain’t Hard To Tell”, “System (Failing)”
