If you religiously watched CKY back in the day like I did it was inevitable you were going to listen to a pair of bands courtesy of Bam Margera. The first of course was his brother’s band of the same name, a story that we covered a few months ago. The second was the band HIM, a Finnish Goth metal band which was one of Bam’s favorites from that era. HIM’s music showed up everywhere on all of Margera’s various media properties and really helped propel the band into the spotlight into the United States. The band also did a helluva job marketing, with their frontman Ville Valo embodying what a rock and roll frontman should look like (one look at the cover of this album shows you all you need to see) and his branding of the band’s famous “heartagram” logo took off of in both the punk rock and tattoo community that made the band legitimate stars. I’ll never not get amped when that beautiful clean tone of “Right Here In My Arms” kicks off. It’s forever a jam.
Standout Songs: “Right Here In My Arms”, “Gone With the Sin”, “Poison Girl”
