Travis Tritt is one of those artists that is pretty steady in my Sunday morning rotation. I love the drawl in his voice, his powerful inflection, and the hokey and melodramatic way that he sings every bar. “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive” is one of those tracks that never fails to put a smile on my face especially during the bridge where he gets to howling like a wolf. And damn does album cover art ever seal the deal. I think the best part about the album cover is that although this was released in 2000 it looks like Tritt hadn’t changed his hairstyle since 1982. An all-time classic on that front.
Standout Songs: “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive”, “Love of A Woman”, “Best of Intentions”
