Frank Zappa was a groundbreaking composer, guitarist, and bandleader whose career spanned a metric ton of musical genres while he was active from the late 60’s to early 90’s. Drawing on influences from doo-wop to avant-garde classical music, he fused rock, jazz, and complex modern music with a satirical twist that often mocked popular culture and the counterculture in the same breath. Despite limited radio play, he built a loyal fanbase and forged a legacy of an iconoclast who championed free expression and pushed musical boundaries beyond what rock or classical composers dared. On Hot Rats Zappa explores the instrumental formation of music, with only one of the six songs featuring vocals (sung by none other than the equally iconic Captain Beefheart).

Standout Songs: “Peaches En Regalia”, “Willie The Pimp”, “It Must Be A Camel”
