Barry Can’t Swim’s debut album When Will We Land is an incredible experience. I was first introduced to him at a bachelor party in Cabo a few months ago by one of the groom’s cousins and I’ve been casually hooked on it ever since. At face value it’s an electronic dance album in the vein of Pretty Lights’ 2013 album A Color Map of The Sun, but spend enough time with it and it feels something more revelatory. The compositions are incredibly dense and filled with little wonderful ear worms at every turn, an electronic symphony that morphs and transforms into a moving emotional experience the further you dive in. It’s well worth a spin this summer outside in the sun (ironically near the pool) soaking in the summer rays and letting a little piece of bliss overtake you.
