There’s a real beauty in seizing a moment in space that captures a specific period of time. It’s a concept that Big Thief managed to capture during the recording of their third full-length album U.F.O.F. Featuring majestic soundscapes, ethereal vocal melodies, and subtle mood changes that matriculate throughout the entirety of the experience, Big Thief’s take on Indie art rock is immediately arresting in its nakedness. During the recording U.F.O.F. at Bear Creek Studio in the relatively secluded small town of Woodinville, Washington, Big Thief leaned into the organic nature of the recording process– nearly every song on the album was recorded live in a single room, with many of these takes being fully written and completed only hours before they turned on the tape to record. It’s a lovingly lonely album that aches with each measure.

Standout Songs: “Jenni”, “Contact”, “Open Desert”, “Betsy”
