“Rock You Like A Hurricane” is an iconic hair metal song and Scorpions are an iconic heavy metal band, selling over 100 million records during the course of their 60-year history. It puts them at the top of best-selling lists of not only heavy metal but bands of any genre, influencing cultural powerhouses like Guns N’ Roses, Mötley Crüe, and Def Leppard over the years with their brand of hard rock.

Love At First Sting is probably their best known album in the United States, featuring the aforementioned “Rock You Like A Hurricane”, as well as beloved arena rock staples “Still Loving You” and “Big City Nights”. The album as a whole is a perfect encapsulation of what makes glam metal so great– the soaring gritty vocals of lead singer Klaus Meine, dueling guitars of Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs, and a big fat rhythm section backed by bassist Francis Buchholz and drummer Herman Rarebell. Along with having steller heavy metal names (if you couldn’t tell at this point Scorpions is unquestionably German), Love At First Sting is a quintessential glam metal album custom-made for massive arena shows.
