Let’s not belabor the point– Céline Dion is a powerhouse. Her four octave range is the stuff of legend. She’s sold over 200 million records worldwide and is one of the best-selling artists of all time. She’s locked down five Grammy’s, four AMA’s, and 20 Juno Awards. In other words, she’s an absolute legend.
Falling into You is Dion’s masterpiece, a 75-minute summation of the best of what 90’s pop is capable of. Released in 1996, Falling into You won four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, and cemented Dion as an all-time vocalist capable of delivering epic ballads (“It’s All Coming Back To Me Now”), straight forward pop hits (“Make You Happy”), and sassy dissonant blues rock (“Declaration of Love”) all in a single album.
A brief side note– this is an album my wife burned through when she was growing up, and it’s fitting we’re listening to this on Mother’s Day. She is an incredible mother, an incredible wife, and an incredible person. This one is for you Buhbuh.
